DUBAI: These Arabic hits formed the soundtrack for a tumultuous 2020.

‘Bel Bont El-Areed’

Emirati crooner Hussein Al-Jasmi released the wildly popular hit in August — it’s affectionately called “El Tabtaba” by his fans.  The romantic song is set to an Egyptian beat with a modern spin, just like his 2014 hit “Boshret Khair.”

‘Awelni Kalam’

Egyptian superstar Tamer Honsy’s “Awelni Kalam” is part of his 2020 album, “Khaleek Folazi.” Since its release in November, it has been a favourite at socially distanced gatherings and weddings across the region.

‘Amaken El-Sahar’

Released in August, Egyptian superstar Amr Diab’s 2020 hit is a romantic ode to his rumored wife, Dina El-Sherbiny, who starred in the music video.

‘Han Al-An’

Jordanian singer Adham Nabulsi took over regional airways in November with his love song set to a captivating beat.

‘Walhan’

Bahraini-Saudi singer Rashed Al-Majed released his lilting smash hit in July, delighting fans with its lyrics about yearning for love.

‘Aghar Aghar’

Iraqi singer Mohammed Al-Salem released this track in February. With its tripping beat, the song was a smash hit on radios across the region.
