MAKKAH: More than 15,000 people have benefited from the Tanaqqol app provided by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques since the Grand Mosque reopened its doors for Umrah. The application allows electric vehicles and carts to be reserved via smartphone to perform Tawaf and Saee.
Fahd Al-Maliki, director of the transport services department, said that pilgrims can use the app to reserve carts without buying tickets, reducing crowding at ticket sales points and improving social distancing among worshippers.
Services provided by the application are: Full Umrah, Tawaf, Saee, free driving service and free service for people with special needs.
Al-Maliki said that the services are in accordance with the directives of Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, president of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, with the follow-up of Mohammed bin Musleh Al-Jabiri, deputy president of services and technical affairs at the Grand Mosque, and aim to achieve the leadership’s aspirations in facilitating all services for pilgrims.
