Dr. Hassan Somili, assistant professor at Riyadh’s Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University

Dr. Hassan Somili is an assistant professor of marketing communication at the faculty of media and communication, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Riyadh. Somili’s teaching subjects include research methodology, international marketing, consumer behavior and e-journalism.

He previously held the position of deputy dean of media and communication in the faculty for higher studies and academic research, and was also a lecturer at the same faculty.

Somili has considerable experience in the media and public relations fields, and relations with different media outlets. He has prepared marketing and media plans for several government agencies and private organizations.

Somili was head of the committee of acceptance and registration of media higher diploma, head of the scholarship and training committee at the faculty of media and communication, and the media coordinator of the Sheffield Hallam Student Club in the UK.

He has taken part in several global conferences, including the C3RI Method conference, Sheffield Hallam University (2016), “Using mixed methods to study social media marketing among Saudi large companies,” and “Assimilation of social media marketing in Saudi large companies: Antecedents and consequences,” his Ph.D. dissertation, Sheffield Hallam University.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in media, majoring in journalism and public relations, from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University. Somili also gained a master’s degree in marketing communication from the University of Leeds in the UK, and a Ph.D. in social media marketing tools from Sheffield Hallam University.
