RIYADH: Ahmad Al-Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD), issued a decision to Saudize 30 percent of the accounting jobs.
The decision, to be effective as of Dhu al-Qi'dah 1, 1442 AH (June 12, 2021), is applicable to all local private entities with at least five accounting professionals.
The move aims to provide more than 9,800 job opportunities, the ministry said in a statement, adding that the targeted jobs include account director, director of Zakat and tax department, director of financial reports department, director of auditing department, internal auditor and cost accountant.
To qualify for the Saudization rate, Saudi accountants should receive a minimum salary of SR6,000 ($1,600) and SR4,500 for bachelor and diploma holders, respectively. In addition, a Saudi accountant should be authorized from the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants, the ministry added.
