When the online game “Genshin Impact” launched in September, I felt a twinge of curiosity, but as someone who takes their time and gets fully immersed in role-playing games, I wanted to be free to play whenever I started it.
When I did, it was late October, and I was influenced by a cute video I saw on Twitter of the main player collecting flower seeds. To me, that was so wholesome, and I had to try it. Little did I know, it would take over my life.
The ever-growing open world, and the beautifully designed characters make this game appealing to all kinds of players. It relies on a gacha system for characters and legendary weapons, meaning high-level options usually come through a lucky draw.
“Genshin Impact” offers free ways to get these items through a currency known as primogems, but users can also purchase in-game currency. Be careful though, it can get quite addictive.
Players are transported to a fantasy world called Teyvat, where the main character washes up on a beach after losing a sibling to an evil being.
The story then moves on to explore different areas of the world, uncover treasures and mysteries, and fight battles and monsters while looking for the lost sibling.
