RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development launched the “Let’s Make Them Cleaner” initiative on Friday to encourage the cleaning of beaches and seabeds with the help of volunteers who are professional divers.
The initiative aims to reduce pollution, protect the marine environment and promote the concept of a clean environment.
It is part of the events launched for Saudi and International Volunteer Day, celebrated every year on Dec. 5.
The event, titled “Ataa Watan” (A Country’s Giving), covered a number of programs and activities across the Kingdom.
and was carried out in cooperation with government bodies and authorities from the non-profit sector.
The ministry has activated five different initiatives this year through the Voluntary Work Platform it launched on March 31, 2020.
The platform provides a safe environment to organize and manage the relationship between authorities providing volunteering opportunities and those offering their services.
