Dr. Mohammed Al-Jarba has been a member of the Shoura Council since 2016. His services were recently extended for four years following a royal order to reconstruct the council.

Al-Jarba received a bachelor’s degree in law from King Saud University in 1987. Six years later, he completed a master’s degree in law from the American University in Washington, US. In 2001, he obtained a Ph.D. in the same major from the University of Wales, UK.

In 1987, he joined the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers, where he served as a legal researcher before becoming a legal adviser and then a legal expert. For graduating as the top student of his class, Al-Jarba was appointed as a teaching assistant in the law department at King Saud University. He worked as a part-time legal adviser at the Shoura Council after the council requested his legal consultancy services.

In 1999, Al-Jarba established the Saudi Students’ Club in Aberystwyth, UK. He was also selected to preside over the club for two years. The club had a major role in creating fruitful cooperation between Saudi students and their families. It also consolidated friendly ties with British schools and universities in Aberystwyth.

Al-Jarba, who is a member of many legal committees, also worked as a part-time legal adviser for a number of committees in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the General Investment Authority and the Saudi Telecom Co. (STC), where he offered legal and administrative studies.

He also took part in a number of work teams at STC to find solutions to administrative job-related issues. Al-Jarba also helped resolve STC contract disputes. Moreover, he provided a number of legal consultations to the giant telecommunications company. He also served as a part-time adviser for the minister of communications and information technology and the board director of the STC.
