Saudi Civil Defense discusses Madinah flood projects

MADINAH: Flood mitigation projects in the Madinah region were reviewed at a Civil Defense committee meeting chaired by Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman on Saturday.

Brig. Gen. Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, director of Civil Defense in Madinah, reviewed preparations by the General Directorate of Civil Defense to deal with heavy rains and flooding.

Fahd Al-Bulaishi, head of the follow-up committee, provided a detailed visual presentation on preparations and projects to avert the risk of flooding, as well as sites that have been treated, and current and future projects.

Prince Faisal urged authorities to intensify efforts and coordination, and continue  implementation of plans to deal with heavy rains.

Prince Faisal said that all efforts should be made to ensure the safety of residents and smooth traffic flow while projects are underway.
