Cabinet reiterates support for stronger Saudi-Iraq ties, praises King Salman for Turkey relief efforts

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman chaired a virtual cabinet meeting on Tuesday which discussed the video call between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Kadhimi held earlier on Tuesday. 

The cabinet reiterated the importance of strengthening relations with Iraq in all fields, especially in the fields of energy, the exchange of experiences and coordination in the oil field within the scope of work of the OPEC and OPEC plus, Saudi Press Agency reported. 

The cabinet also praised King Salman’s recent directive to send urgent medical, humanitarian and shelter assistance to those affected by the Nov. 5 earthquake in Turkey through the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief (KSRelief). 

King Salman also informed the cabinet about the phone call he received from the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and the agreement they reached on the need to confront all forms of extremism and terrorism, and his affirmation on the Kingdom’s condemnation of the terrorist attacks committed in France and Austria recently.
