DUBAI: Lebanon’s interior ministry put 115 towns and villages under lockdown and implemented new curfew hours as coronavirus infection cases continued to rise.
A notice from the ministry said the new countrywide movement restriction, from 9p.m. to 5a.m., took effect on Monday, newspaper the Daily Star reported.
Pubs and nightclubs will remain closed and social gatherings are still banned, it added.
Lebanon has registered a total of 82,617 cases since the start of the pandemic, 42,904 recovered patients and 643 deaths.
