JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia recorded 359 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Saturday, raising the total number of those infected to 341,854 cases in the Kingdom.
There are currently 8,524 active cases, a number that is constantly decreasing, 829 of which are in critical care.
Madinah recorded the highest case count at 55 cases, while Riyadh had 25 and Makkah 23.
The Kingdom saw a significant decrease in its daily death rate, with 21 deaths on Saturday, increasing the total mortality figure to 5,165. In turn, 370 new recoveries were recorded in Saudi Arabia, raising the total number of recoveries to 328,165. The Kingdom’s recovery rate is at 95.9 percent. Riyadh has seen 55,014 recoveries in total, followed by Jeddah with 32,471 and Makkah with 32,293.

Saudi Arabia’s continued effort to monitor, record and detect COVID-19 infections early through polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, has seen 47,926 new PCR tests conducted in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of PCR tests conducted in the Kingdom to 7.3 million.
The Ministry of Health reiterated its call for the public to continue taking safety precautions against infection seriously, and reminded people to take further precautions for the upcoming influenza season, including taking the flu vaccine available in October.
