JEDDAH: The total number of people who have recovered from the coronavirus disease pandemic in Saudi Arabia stood at 300,933, according to the latest figures released on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Kingdom’s Health Ministry announced 687 new cases of the disease, meaning that 324,407 people have contracted the virus so far. There were 19,261 active cases; 1,368 of them are in critical condition.
The Ministry of Health announced 24 more deaths on Friday, raising the death toll to 4,213. Of the new cases, 72 were recorded in Makkah, 49 in Dammam, 48 in Jeddah, 42 in Madinah and 37 in Riyadh.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, 45 percent of the new reported cases were females, 10 percent were children, 4 percent were elderly and 86 percent were adults.
Saudi Arabia has so far conducted 5,645,077 PCR tests, with 55,584 carried out in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health renewed its recommendations for anyone experiencing symptoms to go to its Tetamman (rest assured) clinics dedicated to helping those with COVID-19 symptoms, or Taakad (make sure) centers designated for those who show no, or mild symptoms, or think that they have come into contact with an infected person.

An appointment can be booked through the Sehaty app, or by calling the service center 937 for consultations and inquiries around the clock.
People can also use the ministry’s WhatsApp interactive services via the number 920005937 to obtain health information and services, learn about the developments of the virus, primary care centers, blood donation centers, appointments and how to obtain them.
Meanwhile, Jazan Health Affairs confirmed that the number of beneficiaries of Tetamman clinics and Taakad centers in the region had reached nearly 80,000 so far.
Tetamman clinics received more than 34,822 beneficiaries who were served through nine clinics distributed in all governorates of the region, while the number of people who visited Taakad centers exceeded 45,178 through eight centers, including car tests.
In Madinah, Taakad has provided services to 191,000 beneficiaries since its inception in the city.
The Madinah health affairs said that the center includes 12 examination rooms divided into two main tracks and six secondary tracks, with a capacity of more than 4,000 samples per day.
These tests show the extent of the virus’s spread, and the categories in which it is spreads, and help in early detection of these cases, cut the chain of infection and prevent the formation of hotbeds for the virus.
