SAKAKA: More than 18,000 people visited Al-Jouf festival during its first three days. Al-Jouf municipality organized the event at Al-Nakheel Park in Sakaka.
Several productive Saudi families showcased their products. The municipality announced prizes worth SR60,000 ($15,998) for different categories.
The festival aimed at highlighting traditional foods and promoting local artists.
Due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, strict precautions were in place during the festival.
Young Saudi men and women took part in different competitions. An art section was reserved for local artists
to display their paintings. People took great interest in their work and appreciated their creativity.
It also features 25 food carts run by more than 50 Saudi young men and women, all of whom found their small startups economically viable.
These carts, which open in the evening when the weather is mild and people go out for a walk, contributed to providing a variety of food and beverage options for visitors.
