Saudi Arabia in bid to develop Yemen sports sector

ADEN: The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), in partnership with the Saudi Sports Ministry, has begun renovating the Martyr Ali Asaad Muthanna Sports Hall as part of the SDRPY’s aim to develop Yemen’s sports sector.
The plan is to renovate the hall and provide it with the latest sports equipment. Mohsen Ali Bebek, undersecretary in Yemen’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, said he values the SDRPY’s efforts in cooperation with local authorities in Aden.
He added that the renovation will contribute to getting life back to normal in the governorate and reviving the sports sector in Aden. He said the SDRPY has helped overcome many obstacles that faced the sector.

Bebek said the renovation will have a great societal impact as such halls contribute to channeling youths’ potential. “The Martyr Ali Asaad Muthanna Sports Hall is a multipurpose hall, and after its renovation it will be ready to receive the youth once more,” he added.
