DUBAI: The UAE has helped a Jewish Yemeni family reunite with its other members in London after 15 years of separation.
Emirati authorities were able to facilitate the travel of the mother and father from Yemen to the UAE, as well as arrange for their daughter, son, his wife and the grandchildren, who are living in London, to join them there.
The family members expressed “extreme happiness” in a video recorded about their reunion by state news agency WAM.
They described being reunited as a “miracle” after such a long time apart.
“It was nothing short of a miracle and the realisation of an impossible dream,” a statement on behalf of the family said.
“We thank the UAE for their great support in arranging the reunion.
The father, who expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s help, said: “I feel as if I were reborn today. I am so happy to have met all my children and grandchildren.”
