LONDON: A large blaze that had broken out at a market in Ajman earlier on Wednesday has been brought under control, the emirate’s police force said.
The fire started in the new industrial area of Ajman at around 6.30 p.m. local time, Gulf News reported.
The blaze was brought under control after civil defense teams arrived in three minutes, and there were no reports of deaths or injuries.
Videos posted on social media showed thick plumes of black smoke rising to the sky as the fire raged.
The blaze comes a day after a massive warehouse explosion sent a devastating blast wave across Beirut, killing at least 135 people.
