The digital platform for the “Developmental Initiative” was inaugurated on Wednesday by Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan, governor of Northern Borders Region, alongside Mohammed Al-Shehri, director of the Northern Border University, and government department directors of the region.
The digital platform aims to provide information, skills, and services to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and entrepreneurs.
The platform also includes icons for identifying premises of the developmental initiative “Tanmawi,” providing detailed information to investors about the competitive advantages of the region and investment opportunities available to entrepreneurs in all sectors.
Prince Faisal said the launch of the digital platform will contribute to opportunity and investment, update promising and new ideas in the region, and enhance opportunities for success, in addition to the platform documenting all events and activities of the initiative.
He praised the initiative’s achievement in giving a clear analysis of the elements of MSMEs and the resultant identification of the deficiencies and the drawing up of a practical strategy to address them.
Prince Faisal stressed the need to motivate entrepreneurs and increase the numbers of small and medium-sized businesses, in order to achieve the goals of Vision 2030. He also called for more efforts to serve citizens, by raising the proportion of the private sector’s contribution to GDP, and through self-sufficiency in goods and services, promoting exports, and a diversification in income sources.
The initiative was launched by Prince Faisal two years ago. It aims to grow the number of small and medium businesses, achieve sustainable development in the region, raise the region’s participation in the growth of GDP in the Kingdom, and make the region an attractive environment for investment, according to the goals of Vision 2030.
