RIYADH: A new report by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture revealed that 229 rare and old trees have been surveyed and classified in Asir’s governorates and centers, with some of the trees dating back 1,400 years.
The ministry said that the survey and classification have shown the presence of more than 163 long-living trees (owned publicly and privately) that are in need of protection.
Asir is renowned for its rare trees, and the ministry is working to preserve and protect them from the abuse.
