MADINAH: A mobile laboratory in Madinah has reportedly analyzed 6,000 COVID-19 tests from the city’s residents between its opening last week and Tuesday June 9.
Dr. Omar Al-Hazmi, director of the laboratory department at Madinah’s General Directorate of Health Affairs, said that the mobile laboratory produces test results within 12 hours and is linked to all hospitals and health centers in the region so that anyone testing positive for COVID-19 can quickly be informed and isolated.
Al-Hazmi added that the laboratory has the capacity to process 10,000 tests per day, with new samples arriving from Madinah’s main testing center and the central laboratory on a daily basis.
