More than 300 films were selected to take part in this year’s Palm Springs International ShortFest, which will be held virtually between June 16 to 22 – including films from the region.

In competition for Best Live-Action Short Over 15 Minutes, this Morad Mostafa-directed drama tells the story of a Sudanese henna painter living in Egypt.

Lebanese director Wassim Geagea’s short film focuses on a young boy who questions his faith after his mother dies.

The Sofia Alaoui-directed Moroccan film follows a young shepherd who encounters a supernatural phenomenon when he is forced to brave the snow to save his cattle from dying.
