MADINAH: Over 19,000 students have chosen to pursue their bachelor’s and master’s degrees online by joining distance learning courses at Taibah University in Madinah.
The university’s rector, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Sarani, noted that the start of online courses for the summer semester coincided with the return to work of 50 percent of the university’s staff following the ease in restrictions implemented to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Al-Sarani stressed the importance of adhering to all preventive measures and ensured that the university would fully comply with these.
“We will work on raising awareness and educating staff about the regulations established by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the Ministry of Health,” he said.
Al-Sarani also noted that the educational process during the summer semester would return to normal, helping students via remote electronic services.
During the past year, 50,000 students at the university benefited from the electronic services system put in place to continue courses remotely.
