DUBAI: The working hours of grocery shops in Kuwait will be changed during the lockdown period, state news agency KUNA reported citing the Director-General of Kuwait Municipality Ahmed Al-Manfouhi.
“The grocery stores in investment areas are permitted to deliver food and other items to nearby residents from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,” he said.
“All these stores and their staffers are required to abide by the regulations, previously stipulated in advisories no. 810 and 811 (2020), otherwise they could face shutdown,” he warned.
Earlier on Monday, the advisories ordered grocery stores to stop using vehicles in the home delivery service, and to stop shoppers from entering their stores.
The municipality said masks  and gloves must be worn to help contain the coronavirus spread.
Meanwhile, the health ministry opened a drive-through coronavirus testing center at the Kuwait International Airport to help raise the number of coronavirus tests being conducted in the country.
The center will conduct 180 tests per day, and Text messages will be sent to selected people on the dates, timings and location of the center which can receive 15 cars at once.
