DUBAI: More Lebanese citizens have arrived in the country through repatriation efforts amid an international travel shutdown prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, state-run National News Agency has reported.
The Lebanese embassy in France said 614 people have been repatriated from the hard-hit European country and 198 from other places including Belgium, Brazil, Canada and the US.
Four foreign diplomats have joined the repatriation, according to the statement, while the majority were students.
The statement added more flights will be carried out over the next few days.
Meanwhile, 175 Lebanese nationals stranded in Dubai have been flown back to their home country through a Middle East Airlines flight on Friday.
