What We Are Watching Today: ‘Crash Landing on You’

“Crash Landing on You” is a Korean production boasting all the elements of a great drama serial, and so much more. The show depicts devotion, pure love, friendship, politics and fun all at the same time.
The story revolves around Yoon Se Ri (played by Son Ye Jin), who while paragliding gets stuck in a storm and ends up falling across the South Korean border into North Korea. He is found by the drama’s protagonist, a North Korean soldier, Ri Jeong Hyuk (played by Hyun bin).
The story kicks off from there, as they struggle to protect each other and help Yoon Se Ri cross the border. What I liked most was the bond between the whole team. There were obvious differences between the two countries and how the two main characters lived and stayed in each other’s homelands.
Even for viewers new to Korean dramas, the story progression and stunning visuals in this 16-episode serial is worth watching. If you are exploring your interests and looking to discover new things during lockdown, “Crash Landing on You” is a perfect choice. The drama is a production of Studio Dragon and written by Park Ji-Eun. The show is available on Netflix.
