A Palestinian mother and her new born baby left a hospital in Abu Dhabi after a two-week battle with the coronavirus.
Raneen Zaher, 28, tested positive for COVID-19 along with her baby boy just a day after giving birth. Both were immediately placed separately in isolation at the hospital to receive treatment.
Zaher was only able to see and hold her son, Jad, two weeks after he was born on April 8.

Jad – who was born with a congenital heart disorder - received treatment at a separate neonatal unit.
“It was one of the hardest experiences a mother could go through. I was alone without my family and could not even see my baby,” the mother told UAE daily The National.
The UAE government announced on Wednesday an increase in COVID-19 recoveries to 3,359 cases following the recovery of 206 patients.
Since the start of May, the number of recoveries has increased daily, with the first six days of the month accounting for 155 recoveries, official spokesperson of the UAE Government, Amna Al Dahak Al-Shamsi, said
Al-Shamsi announced a plan to enlarge the scope of coronavirus testing, noting that health authorities performed 25,573 additional tests that identified 546 new infections among various nationalities, with the total number of cases amounting to 15,738, including those receiving treatment, recovered cases, and deaths.
