DUBAI: Egypt’s Health Ministry reviewed the nation’s plan to deal with the spread of coronavirus, monthly magazine Egypt Today reported.
The Health Minister Hala Zayed said the plan is based on a continuous 14-day review of the epidemiological situation and urged authorities to set penalties for all violators of COVID-19 regulations.
The strategy will cover companies, malls, markets and transportation while high risk areas will remain closed, Zayed added. Employers should reduce the number of workers per shift and maintain good ventilation in their premises, the Minister said.
Reopened areas will check the temperature of all visitors and allocate an isolation room for suspected cases, Zayed added.
The Minister of Health urged all citizens who experience coronavirus symptoms to visit the nearest hospital for testing and maintain social distancing, as 25 percent of the virus fatalities arrived at the medical facilities too late.
Egypt has currently 17 quarantine hospitals, with 3,214 beds, 525 intensive care beds and 413 ventilators nationwide.

The country has already confirmed 5,268 cases, 380 fatalities and 1,335 recoveries.
