RIYADH: The Saudi G20 presidency on Friday held a virtual tourism ministers’ meeting to discuss the coronavirus pandemic and tourism. The ministers agreed to explore capacity programs in the industry to help the global economy recover from the pandemic.
The meeting, chaired by Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb, discussed the disproportionate and unparalleled impact that the global crisis was having on tourism.
“We commit to working together to provide support to the sector and welcome the national efforts to mitigate the social and economic impacts of the pandemic by G20 countries,” a statement said.
