  • Program also aims to introduce international business and scientific communities with IP rights in both countries

RIYADH: The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) signed a program to exchange intellectual property data with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) during a virtual meeting on Wednesday.

The meeting, the sixth between the two sides, comes within the framework of the memorandum of understanding in the field of intellectual property (IP) signed in September, 2018.

The program aims to make IP information available to the public through the exchange of published and registered IP data, including patents, trademarks and industrial designs, in both countries.

SAIP hopes the growth of IP data in its information center will help Saudi inventors and innovators develop new inventions and technologies with international applications.

The program also aims to introduce international business and scientific communities with IP rights in both countries.

The National Intellectual Property Strategy Program was signed on June 26, 2019, in Seoul, between SAIP and the KIPO in the presence of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Korean President Moon Jae-in.
