Mosaed Al-Ohali was appointed chief executive officer of the Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Ma’aden) on April 1.
Al-Ohali has vast experience in the Saudi industrial and petrochemical sectors with proven expertise in manufacturing, business, sales and marketing, investment, finance, talent development and risk management.
Before joining Ma’aden, Al-Ohali worked at Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) for over 30 years where he served in several key positions such as the group chief financial officer, executive vice president of the polymers and manufacturing business segments, chief operating officer of the SABIC Europe group and vice president of SABIC Fertilizers.
Al-Ohali obtained a master’s degree in chemical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
He started his career at the Saudi Petrochemical Co. (SADAF) as chemical engineer and climbed the corporate ladder to become the company’s president in 2010.
Al-Ohali led the formation of the SABIC manufacturing organization.
He served as the chairman and member of the board of several SABIC and non-SABIC affiliates. He is currently part of several government forums and nonprofit associations.
Ma’aden recently announced a contribution of SR15 million ($4 million) to support the Health Endowment Fund at the Ministry of Health in the fight against coronavirus.
