DUBAI: Dozens of Saudis have arrived at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, after being repatriated from coronavirus-hard hit US, state-run SPA reported late Friday.
All the 187 Saudis were coming from Los Angeles, where around 11,300 cases have been confirmed as of Saturday. More than 700,000 people are infected with the virus in the US.
The returning citizens underwent health checks upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, which included thermal testing and sterilization.
The nationals were then put into a 14-day-long quarantine, as directed by the Ministry of Health.
The flight was part of the Kingdom’s ongoing campaign to safely return Saudis who were stranded abroad due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Kingdom has so far recorded 7,142 infections, with 87 total fatalities.
