Rakan Aldukheil has been recently appointed vice president of operations at the General Authority for Statistics (GaStat).
The GaStat is a government agency in Saudi Arabia responsible for the implementation of statistical works including the conducting of national surveys.
Aldukheil obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics from Duke University in 2004. He gained a master’s degree in business administration in 2010 from George Washington University.
While at Duke University, Aldukheil participated in an exchange program at the London School of Economics, which focused on game theory and strategy.
He began his career in the US with a prominent think tank. Aldukheil also worked with an online bank before pursuing an MBA.
In 2012, he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where he was tasked with building a consulting strategy in the Kingdom. Later, he moved to the UAE as a strategy manager for the region.
Aldukheil returned to the kingdom to help lead a family company, which was aiming to diversify its revenues. In October 2015, he joined the Deutsche Gulf Finance as senior vice president finance. Aldukheil left the company in April 2017 as the chief financial officer (CFO).
He joined Bidaya Home Finance at CFO, which is the largest private mortgage lender in the Kingdom.
In 2018, Aldukheil joined the Ministry of Economy and Planning as an adviser to the vice minister. In this capacity, he worked on a number of key projects in the real estate, financial, and statistical sectors. In his capacity as an adviser, he also served on a number of committees and boards representing the ministry.
