RIYADH: The Saudi Arabian Grains Organization (SAGO) has urged investors to import up to 355,000 tons of wheat between May and November.
SAGO Gov. Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al-Faris said the initiative has been introduced to support Saudi companies.
At the launching of the season, SAGO committed to buying 700,000 tons of local wheat to diversify sources and meet the Kingdom’s needs.
Al-Faris said the Agriculture Investment Abroad program is one of Saudi Arabia’s food security strategies.
