DUBAI: Public bus services in Dubai will be free and the emirate’s taxis will offer a 50 percent discount for people permitted to leave their homes during the extended curfew, state news agency WAM reported citing the Roads and Transport Authority.
The order was made as Dubai went into an extended two-week lockdown, as part of the country’s precautionary measure to curb the spread of coronavirus.
People have been warned that there will be “strict restrictions on movement across the city and legal action” will be taken against violators.
Supermarkets and pharmacies will be allowed to operate normally and food and medicine deliveries will continue uninterrupted.
