DUBAI: A new mobile application “Stay Home” has been activated by Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health (DoH) to ensure those asked to self-quarantine are abiding by the isolation rules, state news agency WAM reported on Friday.
The application enable’s the health department to track the people’s location and ensure they are not violating the quarantine requirements.
The app can be downloaded from Google Play and Apple Store. All those requested for self-quarantine will be asked to create a username and password to be able to use the platform.
The app will then send alerts asking users to stay within the range of movement allowed during the isolation period.
The UAE confirmed 240 new cases of coronavirus on Friday, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 1,264.
The health ministry also reported the death of a 51-year-old Asian man who had underlying health problems, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to nine.
