Earlier this week, a number of Egyptian singers and actors also appeared in a video, which they shared on Instagram, to educate their followers about the issue. “Cats and dogs do not pass on coronavirus,” they repeatedly said in the video, quoting the World Health Organization.

“Some people are getting rid of their cats and dogs and giving them away,” Reham Ayman, an Egyptian actress, said in the video.

“Their life revolves around no one but you, do not throw them in the streets” actress Engy Wegdan added.
