DUBAI: The UAE Armed Forces have started a three-day military drill on Friday morning in Dubai’s Jebel Ali and Shamka areas, in a bid to “improve security and stability of the society.”
Several other government arms – Ministry of Health and Prevention, the National Emergency Disasters Management Authority, and the Ministry of Interior – were taking part of the joint exercise called “Ta’awon Al Haq 12.”
The armed forces warned residents around the area of “loud sounds and noises” during the drills, which will include movement of helicopters, armored personnel carriers, ambulances, as well as police and civil defense unit vehicles.
“All citizens and residents living in the area are requested not to approach the training location or take photos of the military exercises,” they added, as reported by local daily Khaleej Times.
The exercise comes as the UAE ramps up its efforts against the spread of COVID-19, which has so far infected 333 people in the country.
