RIYADH: The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) is intensifying its efforts to facilitate the work of suppliers and manufacturers, and to mitigate the effects and repercussions of coronavirus on global trade.

SASO urged suppliers and manufacturers to benefit from its SABER e-platform, and said it has dedicated various means to provide necessary and fast technical support on 920008673 or ecare@saber.sa.

SABER allows local merchants and manufacturers to obtain the required conformity certificates and electronic consignment matching certificates for consumer goods, whether imported or locally manufactured, in order to enter the Saudi market.

The platform aims to protect commercial establishments from fraud, and to ensure that products are free of defects that could affect consumers’ health, safety or environment.

SABER complements the electronic systems at the Ministry of Commerce and Investment and the General Authority of Customs, to facilitate work and integrate government procedures rigorously and rapidly.

The platform facilitates access for suppliers and local factory owners to conformity evaluation authorities approved by SASO worldwide.
