DUBAI: Organizers this week rescheduled the Coachella music festival to October over coronavirus concerns, following a directive from local health authorities in the US, while fans took to Twitter to make light of the situation.
“Depressed about Coachella being postponed but at least I have another seven months to get my body right and right,” one user tweeted.
“Coachella being cancelled probably means the end of Instagram,” joked writer and broadcaster Titus O’Reily.
The two-weekend festival, initially set for April, will now take place over the weekends starting Friday Oct. 9 and 16.
Meanwhile, some performers, like Bangladeshi artist Jai Wolf and the American duo Slander, confirmed on Twitter they will still perform at the festival on October.
Tickets bought for the April dates will be valid in October and those unable to attend will be able to obtain a refund, organizers said.
