ISLAMABAD: Science Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain offered 50 scholarships for Palestinian students during a meeting with Palestine’s Ambassador Ahmed Rabei on Monday, a state-run news agency reported.
The scholarships to study at Pakistani universities will be under the Ministry of Science and Technology, according to Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
Some 50,000 Palestinian nationals have so far graduated from Pakistan’s educational institutions, Ambassador Rabei said.
As other issues of mutual interest were discussed, the ambassador said Palestine would support Pakistan in its olive tree planting campaign by providing 5 million olive saplings.
Earlier this year, the Palestinian Embassy in Islamabad presented a mobile health unit to Pakistan’s Ministry of Health to help doctors and medical staff in dealing with emergencies.
