JEDDAH: To reduce the spread of coronavirus, Saudi Arabia has suspended traveling between nine countries, including the UAE, a popular destination for Saudi business and tourism.

Dubai-based airline flydubai told Arab News: “Following a directive from the authorities in Saudi Arabia, flydubai flights to and from Saudi Arabia have been cancelled until 12 March.”

Passengers who have booked to travel to the Kingdom and would like to talk to service providers about the details can reach them on (+971) 600 54 44 45, send them an email to letstalk@flydubai.com or a private message on Facebook, the representative added.

As of Monday, Saudi citizens and foreign residents cannot travel to the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Italy and South Korea.

The Kingdom has suspended school activities and has donated $10 million to the World Health Organisation.

The General Entertainment Authority announced that Riyadh Boulevard and Winter Wonderland would be closed to ensure visitors’ safety.

Saudi Arabia has issued restrictions in the Qatif region, where 11 coronavirus cases have been confirmed. The province has been put on lockdown, with no entry or exit permitted.
