RIYADH: Translation specialists will gather in Riyadh later this month to take part in a forum dedicated to the sector.
Organized by the Saudi Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, the event will be staged at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s conference center from March 19 to 21.
The forum will cover a range of topics including audiovisual translation, as well as discussions based around the experiences of translators.
Panel sessions on day two will address issues such as the interactive relationships between writers and translators, and the challenges and cultural context of translation.
Exhibitions and workshops will also be staged at the event, along with a translation competition aimed at amateurs and university students.
The forum is part of the commission’s efforts to regulate the Kingdom’s translation sector and boost its role in aiding communication between world cultures.
