RIYADH: The minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Rajhi, has launched a new instant work visa service.
The ministry has carried out a number of extensive studies to determine the requirements of migrant workers, so that the new visa service meets their needs.
The ministry will provide a comprehensive set of integrated tools for small-business owners, along with a framework for nationalizing foreign members of the workforce, after an initial grace period of one year, under the Saudi nationalization scheme, Nitaqat.
“This measure will have a positive impact on ‘Saudization’ rates in the coming years. Instant visas will grant an initial work period, in order to ensure the stability and success of businesses to provide jobs for Saudi citizens,” said the ministry’s spokesman Nasser Al-Hazzani.
Individuals wishing to obtain the visa can check the requirements and criteria through Qiwa platform (https://qiwa.sa/en), without the need for paper documents or visit one of the ministry’s branches.
