Algeria scoops table tennis medals at Arab Women Sports Tournament

SHARJAH: Algerian players swept up the gold and silver medals in the table tennis event on the fifth day of the Arab Women Sports Tournament in Sharjah.

In the table tennis, Kateba Kasasi clinched the gold and teammate Mleesa Nasiri secured the silver, while the bronze went to Moroccan Enas Otola.

UAE runners dominated the half marathon as the athletics got underway on Saturday.

Sara Al-Alman won gold medal and Salha Al-Basti won silver.

In the volleyball tournament, Bahrain’s Al Ahli Club beat Syria’s Taldara Club, while Algeria’s Le Groupement Sportif des Pétroliers defeated Jordan’s De La Salle Club.
