Dr. Issa Al-Ansari has been president of Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University (PMU) in Alkhobar since 2004. He has also been secretary-general of the Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Foundation for Humanitarian Development since 2000.
Recently, Al-Ansari signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sulaiman Al-Kaabi, CEO of the Abu Dhabi-based Future Foresight Foundation.
The MoU aims to foster cooperation in many common areas, including, education, youth development and natural resources.
Al-Ansari received his bachelor’s degree in English linguistics and literature in 1983 from King Saud University.
He obtained his master’s in 1989 in teaching and learning from the University of Pittsburgh in the US.
In 1995, Al-Ansari got his Ph.D. in education, with an emphasis on training teachers, from the University of Southampton in the UK.
He started his career in 1995, holding the position of dean of the Dammam College of Technology until 2003.
During that period, he was secretary of the committee of deans and directors of colleges in the Arab Gulf states.
He was a special advisor to Eastern Province Gov. Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Al-Saud between 2002 and 2012.
During the same period, Al-Ansari was also secretary of the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Award for Distinguished Government Performance, and secretary of the Social Rehabilitation Committee in the Eastern Province.
Al-Ansari was secretary of the Coordinating Committee for Community Development between 2005 and 2012.
