Their visit was also shared by the official Kensington Royals accounts. Among other things, the duke and duchess interacted with the representatives of the UK Women’s Muslim Council and people who have benefited from the Council’s Curry Circle, an initiative sponsored by MyLahore that provides a hot two-course meal to people who are homeless or struggling to feed themselves.

MyLahore was opened in 2002 by Yorkshire-based cousins Asghar Ali and Shakoor Ahmed. Ali, who at the time was working at a bank, and Shakoor, who had just started studying at Bradford University, started the restaurant to support their families.

What began as a small eatery in Bradford has grown into an iconic British-Pakistani restaurant that is now located in Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham. MyLahore is soon expected open a branch in London.
Its menu reflects its Yorkshire-Pakistani roots with items dipping in nostalgia from chaats and samosas to lassies and kulfis to more modern takes on food like a list of burgers and pastas.

The menu itself features familiar truck art with British spins, such as a pile of cars, rickshaws and classic British vehicles decked out in colorful designs.
MyLahore strives to use whatever means they have to enrich the communities from which they came and get involved in charities and giving back.
