RIYADH: The Bangladeshi Embassy in Riyadh celebrated its 48th Victory Day in the city’s Diplomatic Quarter.
Ambassador Golam Moshi hoisted the Bangladeshi flag to full staff. Embassy officials, and hundreds of Bangladeshi expats from various Saudi cities, were in attendance.
Messages from the Bangladeshi president, prime minister, foreign minister and state minister for foreign affairs were read out by embassy officials.
Moshi said Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to implement the Bangabandhu’s Golden Bengal dream and to make Bangladesh a developed country by 2041.
He added that under her dynamic leadership, Bangladesh’s recent development has been praised as a “role model” for other developing countries worldwide.
Moshi urged the new generation to work hard to build a Bangladesh free from corruption. He said remittances sent by Bangladeshi expats are vital for their country, and the embassy is always ready to serve them in recognition of their contribution.
He added that the embassy has established several digital centers in Saudi cities to provide services for Bangladeshi expats.
Moshi said the remittances sent by Bangladeshi expatriates are playing a vital role to build Bangladesh.
Deputy Chief of Mission Dr. Nazrul Islam said Bangladesh’s recent development, and its contribution to maintaining global peace, are highly acclaimed worldwide.
The construction of Padma Bridge, Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant, Metro Rail Project and launching of Bangabandhu Satellite-1 in the space are clear testimony of Bangladesh’s capability, he added.
At the end of the program a special prayer session was held for the peace and prosperity of the country.
