RIYADH: The MiSK Foundation has launched the Qayyim platform to protect children and adolescents from the dangers associated with playing video games, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.
Qayyim provides children and their parents with brief information on the content of video games, and the religious and behavioral violations they contain.
Qayyim was created in cooperation with education experts and psychologists to evaluate games on an online platform.
It assesses video games based on five main criteria: Religious, psychological, mental, ethical and financial.
This contributes to raising awareness among players and educators so they can take appropriate action.
Qayyim classifies video games according to appropriate age groups, and provides a brief description of content to make it easier for parents to make decisions.
The platform shares information about classified games to improve values, create a generation aware of the dangers and influence of video games, help responsible authorities monitor what is on the market, and guide educators and parents.
