RIYADH: In its weekly session on Tuesday, the Saudi Cabinet condemned Iran’s continued violations of international treaties and conventions governing nuclear power.

In a statement issued to the Saudi Press Agency, Media Minister Turki Al-Shabanah said the Saudi ministers welcomed the US decision to end sanctions waivers for Iran’s Fordow nuclear plant.

The Cabinet, he added, urged the international community to take a firm position against Iran’s violation of international laws.

The Saudi ministers also reviewed the latest regional developments and their impact on the region. Al-Shabanah said the minister reiterated the Kingdom’s rejection of the US’ statements on Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

The Cabinet also congratulated the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on its 50th anniversary. The ministers praised the efforts of the OIC and the services it provides to the Muslim world.

The meeting also discussed the royal speech made at the opening of the fourth year of the seventh session of the Shoura Council. Praising the contents of the speech, the ministers said it showed the Kingdom’s commitment to defend Arab and Islamic issues particularly the Palestinian issue.

Al-Shabanah said the Cabinet also reviewed the Diriyah Gate Project and other domestic matters.
