Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz, governor of Saudi Arabia’s Asir region

Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz

Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz has been the governor of Saudi Arabia’s Asir region since December 2018. He also holds the rank of brigadier general (pilot officer) in the Royal Saudi Armed Forces. 

He is the personal representative of Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz, chairman of the board of trustees at Mentor Arabia, an NGO that advocates for drug prevention. 

Prince Turki is head of the advisory board of the Arab Open University Buildings project, and is a member of the Young Arab Leaders organization. 

He has participated in humanitarian and developmental activities and events regionally and internationally, and has written numerous articles. 

Prince Turki served in 2018 as vice chairman of the Consolidated Contractors Co. and deputy governor of Asir with the rank of minister.

He has a bachelor’s degree in political sciences from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK.

On Friday, Prince Turki launched a public ethics campaign aimed at promoting traditional Saudi values and respect.

The Kingdom has “principles, traditions and values that we’re proud of and that we rely on to look for a better future by the will of God,” he said.

“All of us, whether officials, citizens or residents, are required to stick to these values, traditions, good behavior and respect of others, and to be role models with our high Islamic values that we coexist by.”
