RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and Brazil signed several cooperation agreements during President Jair Bolsonaro’s visit to the Kingdom.
Bolsonaro arrived in Riyadh on Tuesday with a delegation of ministers, parliamentarians and business people after an invitation from King Salman.
He was a guest of honor at the Future Investments Initiative (FII), organized by the Saudi Public Investment Fund annually to discuss trends in the global economy.
The leaders of both countries considered the visit an important step in bolstering ties between their nations, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The agreements for cooperation and investment covered areas including the agricultural and industrial sectors, energy, mining, infrastructure, transport, science, technology and innovation, a joint statement said.
They also agreed to intensify cooperation in the fields of peaceful use of nuclear energy, cultural cooperation, space and sports.The two sides also said they would enhance defense cooperation.
